I was born on January 15, 2004, but what Mommy and Daddy did not know .... I had a few secrets. First they found out that I had Down syndrome. Then they found out that I had low platelets. The big secret .... God made me special just for my family!! Mommy and Daddy said that I was perfect. Since the day I was born, I have had to get lots of blood tests. I am so used to it I don't even cry!!
In 2006 I was diagnosed with AML and I went through 6 rounds of chemo. The Dr's. thought the leukemia would not come back, but In April 2007 we found out that the leukemia did come back. Mommy and Daddy talked to the Dr.'s, got second opinions and decided that we would go to Johns Hopkins. It was decided that a bone marrow transplant would be done. First I had to go through chemo treatments at Children's, the Dr.'s wanted to make sure that the leukemia went into remission before they started a bone marrow transplant. On August 1, we are going to Johns Hopkins to start the transpant. Mommy is going to start a journal of my days in the hosptial!! Please keep me in your prayers. Prayer works!!
