I first found out about Lance when the article in USA was featured in May 2007. A coworker shared it with me because we are instructors at a state residential center for the develomentally disabled. I am a RN and I teach a class to new employees about how to care for people who have seizures and I always share relevant newspaper articles with my class. I talk about surgery as one of the treatment options for people with seizures and refer to Lance. Everytime I teach the class, I wonder how Lance is doing and vow to visit the website and I finally made it a point to do just that. I am very glad that Lance is still "seizure free"! Know that his story has helped me to educate hundreds of new employees here at our center.

My husband & I read Lance's story in USA Today, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Our daughter, Lily, 5 years old suffers from Epilepsy as well, and it is becoming very apparant that the drugs are not working. We live in the Chicago area and her doctor, (who we love and respect so much), is recommending surgery at The Cleveland Clinic with Dr. Bingaman. This is all very new and a lot to digest, but thank you for your story, I am starting to learn more and more about our inevitable future. Good luck to you Lance, we are definitely rooting for you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we hope for a seizure free life!!

Congratulations, Lance !! God Bless you and your family, for touching so many others, like my family, with sharing all you've been through, and despite such, reaching higher each time! There are great things in store for your future and those you touch!! I continue to encourage you (or your mom) to write a book about it one day soon !!! Take care, Yvonne, Holly & Steven. p.s. my daughter is a senior also this year!

Dear Lance:

We give thanks to the Lord for his healing in your life. Many have prayed for you and the Lord has delighted to answer above and beyond what we ever expected or imagined. Keep pressing on!

I love the Red's room. You did a great job designing it.

Johnie will be back at CC in April for a Third Ventriculostomy, it should only be two nights in the hospital. Glad you will not be there!

Pressing on,
Mary Catherine Wallen
