Hello Krista and Messing family -

We got your postcard, the blue sky and puffy clouds with your picture in the center show the promise of better things to come your way. 2007 will be a great year!

Have fun at your party this Saturday, I'm in Seattle with my sister this week so I won't be able to attend. Tom and Devon should be there - she's very excited for another Kelly/Schantz/Messing event. I hope I get another chance to hear the Messing Link before too long, what a group! With all those peeps, it's gotta be a riot! Sing and dance, enjoy your time - and take good care of yourself.

love,

Shannon

I know from all my years in the medical field; that the real tough work is in the next couple of weeks and months ahead of you. Getting stonger, getting a new schedule, routine, outlook on life...it's all very tiring and alot of work. Chin up...you can do it!! God has blessed you with the gift of life, You are not alone. Some days may be good and some days bad, just hold onto HIM and know He is right there with you kiddo! And so is your family. We all are still thinkin of you and praying everyday. I know your going to make it through this next stage with flying colors. Be strong, but remember that it is ok to have those weak moments too. It's okay to cry on Mom and Dad's shoulders, okey? Martin and Kathy...so glad to hear that Krista is one step closer to coming home. You all Hang in there, after a few more visits....it won't be long and you'll be coming home! We are all looking forward to seeing you all soon. May the Lord Continue to Bless You and keep you close by His side. Love, Aunt Jenny

Hi to you all -

Just thinking about you all today and wondering how you are doing? Congratulations on your graduation Krista :) Mike and I will try to give you all a call this evening - from reading Helens note I see the trip must have been a bit hard on you Krista. You just don't realize all the work your muscles are doing all the time in regular daily activity. I hope you are feeling better - I know that you will be feeling better before you know it and get back to all the fun stuff you did before.

Sophie is getting bigger - she is probably a whole 2#s now and 11 weeks old - she will make you laugh when you get to see her again. She is settling into our family life pretty well.

Martin and Kathy I hope you are doing ok too. It is hard to be the support people and I think of you all the time - I hope the change of scenery is good for you and you have some time soon to fit in fun for all of you - even if it is only going to get ice cream.

We will talk to you later.
Love to you all

Hey Krista,

I see Cassie found ya! She asked what was goin on, and I tried to explain .. so I sent her here.

Anyway, I see you're doing better. That's great! Now chances for you being in Juneau during Christmas are looking up, eh? Neat. I'm counting down the days until I get to go home. 12 left!

Mom is still in Seattle. She got her surgery a day early and it turns out they didn't get enough of the cancer. So, she's got to stay another week and get additional surgery this Wednesday. She's got to choose between another lumpectomy (more severe this time) or a partial masectomy. She's still undecided though.

This week is 'dead week'. It's what colleges call the week before finals week .. because everyone is busy/tired from studying. So I have quite a bit of work ahead of me. Anyway, I should finish my Chemistry homework.

Love and miss you!

Krista my dear,
It was so good to hear your voice today when we talked (mostly me talking as you tire so fast). I am going to pray really hard the next few weeks for you to gain strength. I hurt with you as your muscles have to adjust to being used again after so long of no use. I think about the times I use muscles I haven't used for a while & how just those few muscles can hurt sooo much. Then I think about how your WHOLE body aches because you are now using EVERY muscle. Keep strong Krista & know that everytime you get up & work those muscles is that much closer to coming home to Juneau.

I'm glad you have GMa Cleonne to help you heal. She is a great person to have around when you could use extra special care as she is always ready to take care of all her loved ones & that includes you! Hopefully your mom & dad can get some extra rest too. They have been there every step of the way for you and of course your number one help has been God. Keep going to him while you have to work so hard to get better as he answers our prayers (he answered your families prayers or you wouldn't be reading this today). He is the strength in our lives.

I have the house decorated for Christmas & need to start thinking of Christmas gifts now. As I told you, I think this year will bring a few gifts for the kids & our biggest gift will be having you home for Christmas (how are all of us up here going to be able to hold your hand & touch you & hug you all at once when we will just want to be beside you all the time? We will have to learn to share again!). You are soooooo loved.

Keep working hard & pray for strength. I am sending my love your way (be ready for it to caress your cheeks!).

Love you tons,

I am so excited to hear that you are getting released from the hospital today. I know its been a long journey so far but you have made such progress. Not too much longer and you will get to come home and sleep in your own bed. :) Please know that not a day goes by that I don't think about you and pray for your recovery. And a day doesn't go by without people asking me how your doing. You are a strong and beautiful woman. You mean so much to this family. Keep up the good work and we will see you soon.
