Kris’s Story

Hi. I've started this website as a way to update people and express my feelings and experiences throughout this process.
In Feb. 2011 I was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) in my liver. It is currently inoperable, and I have been trying to come to terms with that fact.
I'm going to try to keep this website updated with everything that's going on. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it current.

Latest Journal Update

Lots of news

I was never good at being a pen pal, and am just as bad updating this site this past year!
Where to start.... I just started cycle 19 on the trial, which means about 18 months with minimal side effects! Swelling in the legs is managed by Lasix, so now we watch my kidney functions. I still lose hair, but it's growing back, too. So all in all, pretty good! I still get tired, and require more sleep than I ever have in memory, but I'm able to sleep and better yet, still wake up every day! And the word every month is STABLE!
In August I started work again. It's part time, but it's a job and it helps pay bills. I'm a reservation specialist at a transportation company. In English, I take reservations for private car service for trips, mostly to and from airports. I also take reservations for the company's shuttle service, which runs from the airport to hotels in the suburbs. It's not physically hard, so that's a plus. And it's 8 hours a day, 3 days a week. So I still have 2 days for doctors appts!
And lastly, I am moving into an apartment October 18! I can't wait to get out of this place! Away from MOLD!!! I'm so excited!
I'm still singing karaoke and playing poker, but I had to stop dancing because of my work hours. I miss it, but at least I'm working again!
I hope everyone had a good summer and a healthy fall.
