Hi this is Kim. I was diagnosed with Stage 1A, grade 2, ovarian cancer in April of 2008. On April 28th I had a total abdominal hysterectomy. On June 5th I was scheduled to start my chemotherapy. I had an allergic reaction to the chemo drug Taxol, and my husband and I then decided that perhaps we needed to get a 2nd opinion on treatment.

I had my follow up appointment today with Dr. Gomez regarding my recent bloodwork and CT scan. My CT scan looked normal, and my CA 125 was 13, still within the normal range. I am still a little anemic, but nothing that he is too worried about. Praise God for these results.
We (Keith and I) also had an opportunity to speak with Dr. Gomez about spiritual issues. He mentioned that I tolerated the chemo pretty well and I said it was because of the prayers of the Saints. He then asked if I was Catholic. That launched us into a conversation regarding the Saints and prayer, and through that we were able to share the gospel. I don't know where Dr. Gomez stands concerning his relationship with Jesus Christ, but we were happy to be able to share with him what we believe the Scriptures say. He said we would have to continue our conversation at our next visit : )
I am not scheduled to have any more bloodwork done until the end of the year, and my next visit with Dr. Gomez isn't until the first of the year. I am looking forward to not being a pin cushion any more!!
Thank everyone for your prayers for myself and my family. I am glad that through it all God is in control and I rest in that.
Blessings,
Kim
