Kim Thome's Journal
Written Dec 9, 2013 7:54pmIt's me again, Kim :). I received a phone call from my neurologist today who had the results from an EEG test I had a few weeks ago. Unfortunately she said the left side of my brain carries a lot of seizure. I know that sounds odd but it just means (I think) that it is a lot easier for me to have one. Now I have started to do my research on how to prevent them and what to do if I have one. Maybe they have been there the entire time. If that be the case I have been lucky enough to go almost 9 months with only having 2 seizures. Hopefully that is the case and they won't get any worse. I have been doing pretty well with a few setbacks. Considering what happened I am very lucky to be where I'm at. Thank you for all of your prayers :)
It's Me, Kim:)
Written Nov 10, 2013 11:11pmHi everyone... It's me, Kim :) It has been almost 8 months since my accident. Unfortunately last week Friday we had a setback of me having a seizure AT WORK! The ambulance was called and I was taken to St. Nick in Sheboygan. I don't remember anything happening until after 11:30 which means I don't recall anything for 3 hours. Although Shaun says I was only out for about an hour. Having a seizure is currently the scariest thing that has happened to me. Especially having Hayley and Madison at home with me , I'm not sure that they would know what to do. I am praying that this doesn't happen anymore so we have nothing to deal with. I am still going to therapy once a week for problems I have with my back. I am also seeing my chiropractor twice a week for the same problems. Hopefully treatments together will help me out very soon. Tomorrow I see my Chiro and my therapist and Tuesday I see my neurologist for having my seizure. Hopefully all of my results come out just great and I can keep on my good path I was on :)
Written Sep 19, 2013 10:00pmToday marks 6 months after Kim's accident. We are at a place that we could never dream that we would be at today. Kim is recovering well and is at about 80% of what she once was. She continues therapy two days a week down in Milwaukee and does better and better every day. I can't thank you all enough for your consistent prayers and thoughts. We have gone through an unbelievable journey and have come out on top. We hope to continue on this path and keep on moving forward. We thank you all for your continued support.
