Kevin was born on January 18, 1994. He is a 3 sport athlete (baseball, basketball, and cross country) sophomore at Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He loves watching and playing most all sports, but his three favorite teams are the Kentucky Wildcats, New England Patriots, and New York Yankees. Some things he enjoys doing in his free time would be fishing, spending time with family, and playing XBOX 360(COD). He was diagnosed on February 10th with a brain tumor, specifically pontine glioma. That night he began the first round of 5 weeks of radiation. He should begin soon to steadily improve with every radiation treatment. The main thing he needs right now is everyone to just continue praying. You got this Kev! Kevin still has a lot of You Got This Kev tshirts, if you are interested please let us know. 3114 S. Kevin is doing well. He is home for Thanksgiving. My heart is heavy for those around me that have lost a loved one this year. My family was so close to losing a huge part of our lives. At the edge of the cliff for such a long time. I pondered many days how different my live would be if Kevin wasn't here but God shared his grace with us and has more planned for Kevin. Sometimes you think why him, why not him, what is next in this journey, how do we make through the next hurdles, what is around the corner, Life is hard but So many things to be thankful for You can live in despair, heartache, and gloom but why when God is blessing each of everyday. I started this entry and didn't finish it on Thanksgiving. Within a 2 days we learned a young lady at FCHS had passed away from her journey with cancer. She fought with such courage, strength and never ever gave up. Too many of our babies lose their battles to this horrible disease. That is something you see in most kids with health issues. They never asked to be sick, they want to have the everyday problems as every healthy child. Instead they are poked, scanned, filled with radiation, chemo, medications, and still they fight as hard as they possibly can, become our heroes, have more faith and trust in God, smile, laugh and just want to make it easier on the ones around them. We have so much to learn from them. We need to find the cure!!
Marissa told me today that it has been way too long since I updated Caringbridge. I would have to agreed. It is hard sometimes to write without making it seem like I am bragging on my family. I really am not trying to brag but to spend the word about the many miracles God has performed in our lives. Hoping this might help someone out to give hope to the hopeless, courage to face the unimaginable issues, to know you are not alone and the faith they need to make through that moment of their lives. Kevin is doing so well. He is in is 3rd semester at University of Kentucky. He is about to take his finals in a week. Can you believe that? It is amazing how far we come. God has worked so many miracles in our lifes. Kevin works so hard at everything he does. Kevin is so inventive. He bought himself a Christmas present a knee walker (what people use after having knee surgery) As most of you are aware his right side is very weak. In his mind if he could rest is weight on his Right knee on the walker he should be able to get stronger to walk on his own. His trunk support and left leg is not strong enough to support this theory yet but you know Kev he will try hard to make this happen. In Lexington, Kev is doing drivers training with a few small accommodations he is doing really well. Never ever giving up on his dreams. Kevin will be home soon for winter break and he will go for his next MRI. We are almost at the 4 year mark. Continue to dream big and go after them with everything you have. I have to share this with you too: Kevin sent me an text for his Christmas List: Ipad NBA2K14 Pistons, Yankee, and patriots clothes See my mommy It made me cry. I guess someone is feeling homesick a little these days or he is just sucking up for better presents. Man how I love this kid. Keep the prayers coming. You Got This Kev Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Hug your loved ones a little tighter and tell them you love them
