Kennedy’s Story

Kennedy Rae Urban is a sweet adorable little 19 month old girl. On Monday July 29, 2013 Kennedy was taken to the doctors because her parents noticed that she hadn't been herself. Her belly seemed hard and distended. She was sent to a nearby hospital where it was discovered that Kennedy had multiple masses in her abdomen. She was immediately transferred by ambulance to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. At this time, her physicians believe that Kennedy has Stage 4 High-Risk Neuroblastoma Cancer. The working diagnosis was confirmed on August 5, 2013. Kennedy has a long fight ahead of her but we know that she is going to beat this! Kennedy is adored by her loving parents, Kevin and Melissa, and her super awesome big brother Connor!

Kennedy has also undergone a total of now five blood and two platelet transfusions, and she will need many more throughout her battle with cancer. Kennedy's blood type is O+ and if you are willing to donate blood you may do so directly at Childrens Hospital Los Angles to Kennedy's blood bank through the blood donor center. You can contact the blood donor center at (323) 361-2441 or click directly on the link below.

Latest Journal Update

Update By Kevin, 1/16/14

Update, Kennedy’s courage over the past forty-eight hours continues to inspire us immensely. Her intensity to fight hard every minute of every hour reminds us of how brave and strong this little princess truly is. Kennedy is still resting comfortably while her body heals from the trauma of the operation. We are scheduled for surgery tomorrow evening with an optional push to Saturday morning if add...itional time is needed to reduce the swelling. Only during surgery will they be able to determine if her lower intestines can be placed back within the abdominal cavity. Please join us in prayer for a smooth and successful surgical operation. We would like to say thank you for all of your prayers, support and kind thoughts. Our family will continue to pray for all children and a cure for cancer. I AM KENNEDY HEAR ME ROAR!!!
