As some of you know Kenji has been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a tumor that, unfortunately, is cancerous and has spread into the blood stream, stage 4. We will start chemo sometime next week.

DAY +5

So if you remember I was telling how yucky Kenji was feeling...not even getting out of bed and hardly even speeking. I figured he'd be down for a couple more days. Would you believe that yesterday when the Gallaghers came with Isamu he bounced out of bed ( sort of ) and played with them by the window. He moved and said more in the first 5 minute than he had in almost two days. They were able to hang out for a couple of hours and soon as they left he fell asleep. Today is another good day. He has had quite spells and lounging time but we did get out of bed and made more snowflakes, stars, and x-mas trees from contruction paper ( thanks Laurie Freeman-Young )

We also had some family come visit-Auntie Laura, Cheryl and Gavan. ( Kenji looooves big Gavan, little Gavin too : ) He showed them how to make snowflakes. It was so sweet. I decided I would run and shower and when I came back the room was dark because all the shades down and lights off, Kenji had the disco ball on, Cheryl had a microphone in her hand. I don't know WHAT was going on! but it was funny. Kenji sure knows how to party. ( mental note-Kenji likes to have parties when mom's away )

The doctor came in this morning, again please with Kenji's progress. He is on a morphine drip and I think that is helping quite a bit. One big thing to mention is Kenji is losing his hair again. Way faster that last time. I noticed it yesterday, you know just a couple of hairs on the sheets. This morning I notice one side of his head super thin and when he actually got up I notice the entire back of his head was bald. All the loose hair is tickling his face but otherwise he seems fine with it like the first time it happened.

Cool dude!!!

Go Kenji!!!
