At the end of July 2007, I was diagnosed with Angio-Sarcoma, a cancer of the soft connective tissues and muscles. Everyone around me has been amazing, especially my family, friends, and Duke. I spent most of the last half of the summer in and out of Duke University's Pediatric Floor and am now undergoing chemotherapy treatments for my cancer.

Well its 2 40 am and I can't sleep. I have had such a wonderful day today and I can't help but think that you had a little influence on that lil sis. Just to let you know that I got up early today...yes believe it or not I have turned over a new leaf. I am trying to make the most out of every day. Sure on game days I sleep until the last possible minute but I really have turned over a new leaf. As i sit here at the house reflecting on the day that was I figured out I would give everyone associated with our family a quick hello, how are you, we love you and share my day with everyone.

Today I had quite a Katie day. At 7:30 this morning I woke to a beautiful, sunfilled sky with the air temp already hovering close to 80 here in the palmetto state. What a day it is going to be. Coop was heading out to do some shopping and I was heading into the stadium to do a little turf work, go and hit a few golf balls and maybe try to find a new wallet. Mine got hiested a few days back. So, that is exactly what I did. I got to the park did a few things, played with the big yellow lab, Hogan, for a bit, mowed the outfield, hit some golf balls, put some fertilizer out and soaked up this beautiful day. This evening, Cooper, myself, the Rumphs, Coles, and Ibbotson's went out to dinner and listened to a little music in Conway. It was totally awesome and I will take 364 more just like it.

Anywho, I have started to do the facebook stuff on the computer and by no means am I a guru but it is pretty cool. I have caught up with a few friends, kept in touch with some of Katie's friends and kept a watchful eye on my little bro Thomas but it made me realize that we need a good push of people to say hello again to the caring bridge site. For all of us that have had a good Katie day or a day that has made you smile write about it on the site. Drop the Kiddo a line here, because you all know she is smiling down with that huge grin looking at us all and letting us know that she is with us.

I miss her with all my heart but know in my heart that she is smiling down on me every day. So, with that said write a little something here, look up at that beautiful day and give a little wink to the Kiddo. I hope everyone has a great day today and I can't thank you enough for everything that you guys have done for our family. Love to all and Keep Kickin' Ass Kiddo.
