So many God things are happening - I'm not sure where to start!
God thing One . . .The Run for Kay's Kamp - 5K Run/Walk was held at Rockford Park on Saturday May 23. The weather was perfect, and we had 163 participants. I understand for an inaugural run, that's a pretty good number! Thank you Jesus! Pictures of the event will be posted at www.kayskamp.org in the near future.
God thing two . . . On May 29,30 & 31 we have been given vendor space at the NASCAR Race at Dover Speedway. An article in "Beyond the Track" written by Race Editor, Kathy Willes highlights the kamp and current donation needs. Even more exciting, Bush Car Driver, Peyton Sellers, who races on Saturday, drives a bright orange car, #77, and the Kay's Kamp logo will be displayed on the car!!! A must see for racing fans (and Kay's Kamp fans!) Then to top it off, two very generous donors have given the KEWF three amazing gifts to put into a drawing to benefit Kay' Kamp. You could win 1 of 3 Grand Prizes
1. Monster Ride - 4 laps with a driver in a Monster car at Dover Speedway,
2. 2 Race Tickets- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Dover 400 September 27, 2009, Turn 4
3. Monster Drive - You drive 10 laps in a Monster race car at Dover Speedway.
Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25 - Drawing: Sept.1, 2009 (check website for details coming soon)
God thing three. . . .Kay's Kamp will have a float in the Smyrna/Clayton 4th of July Parade! We are in need of volunteers to build and decorate the float; June 15 through 30 each night from 5-9. (Saturday's from 12 to 9) More details and how to sign up to volunteer will be posted on www.kewf.org and www.kayskamp.org websites by June 1. (BTW, We do have veteran float makers in charge of this project)
God thing four & five . . .We will be at Relay for life in Middletown on June 5 and Separation Day in New Castle on June 13. Please stop by to say hello or purchase a ticket to win one of our Monster experiences.
God thing six & counting. . . Kay's Kamp is right around the corner and we have been assembling our team of counselors, staff, medical personel and campers. If anyone is interested in helping at Kay's Kamp, you must fill out an application available on line at www.kayskamp.org. NO ONE will be allowed at kamp without an approved application and background check. (Bill, Andrew and I have filled out applications and had background checks) So please get your application in asap.
When we see all that God has done, we are so humbled and in awe of His faithfulness! We know that without Almightly God putting His plan into place, Kay's Kamp would only be a dream and not the reality He has ordained for kids battling cancer.
This is how we know - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
