Hi All,
Once again, I am amazed at the length of time since I last posted, and am so glad that you all have kept in touch with us! Here goes,
Christmas went well, with all three kids at home,. then Dain and I flew out to Denver to check out his "new" school. Johnson & Wales University put a huge effort on all that ventured out on a snowy, cold January weekend. Dain has been accepted to the culinary school with a partial scholarship. We are getting him ready for a early August departure. So, here we go again, the second child in a private school!! God Bless Us!!
Hannah is working hard on College exams and applying for scholarships for next year when she will graduate from Belgrade High School in 2010.
And of course, there is Miss Katie! She has finished her first full semester (along with 40 hours with a Kindergarten Class) and is now on her second semester with a full load (17 credits) And still has time to "surf" the internet for horses. We have just purchased another horse, an APHA /AQHA 2 year old gelding from Oregon. Hopefully he will be a pleasure machine. Katie is looking forward to "riding" her horses this summer, with the help of a good friend who is working on a saddle for her. Wish us luck!
Katie and I did have a short trip back to Minneapolis, MN last week during Katie's spring break to see the "bottom" specialist along with a plastic surgeon. The plan was to put Katie under Anestesia, then explore her bottom area to see if there was enough tissue left, or if not, to see it they could take some from another area to re-construct the rectom. But, after an hour in surgery, , the Docs came out and said that they felt it was not in Katie's best interest to be cutting and moving tissue and muscle at this time. So, we will now wait for the medical field for the next few years to come up with another alternative. A good/bad situation. Good because Katie will have her 2009 summer to spend with her horses, but bad because she will have to deal with her colostomy for another few years. But after she's been through, we think she'll be just fine.
DOD (Dear old dad) is emersed in yet another "Tax Season" He bearly noticed that we were gone. Two of the goats are bred and due in late May,so he has slowly stopped milking and spending more time in the "hole" (office)
As for me, I am enjoying my time back working for the company I had to abruptly leave when Katie had her accident and spending as much time in the barn and with the horses as I can. ( To Hell with housework!!) God Bless us!!
As for you all, we can not thank you enough for all of your prayers, thoughts and gifts. God is Good!
Love, Christine
