My Story

Welcome to my CaringBridge site which at the suggestion of a few great friends in Fargo I've created to keep all my family and friends up to date on the progress of my treatment for non hodgkins lymphoma.

Thank you all for so much for your support, love, kind words, positive energy and prayers.

Hello, I know, two updates in about two weeks. A record for me especially over the last couple years.

Had my ct and blood work done (a little early as I was really stressing and have had a few strange aches) on Tuesday. So scans and blood were all good. Whoo Hoo! Will have an endoscopy and biopsies in August again, but will have that bumped up if I need to. But since I haven't had my glass of red with dinner, my stomach has settled. So I guess no more red wine for me. Trying to get into the green tea, but it's just not the same...and we still have a lot of (really good) red wine left from the wedding. I can't believe we still have any left either!

So have a look at the photos I've added. Finally I took a picture of Dr B...but can't show his face because he's a haematologist. (Aussie friends will get that one - for others - there's a really terrible toothpaste commercial here where they only show the back of a dentist brushing his teeth 'we can't show his face because he's a dentist' What the??

Some of the photos we finally got taken a couple weeks ago now that my hair is longer and the kids are a bit older by a real photographer!

A photo of me just before going in for my scan if you ever wondered what a ct machine looks like. Fingers were crossed, did the trick.

And also a photo of poor Jessie after her ear operation last week. A blood vessel burst in her ear and filled with blood. $600 later...Happened to her other ear when we were living in Fargo - problem with long eared dogs apparently.

Ok, better get going and do some work. Still looking at my blog book and deciding if I should set one up. Will let you know, it's in the 'kind of hard' basket at the mo.

Take care all , Love Karen
