My name is Kamelah. I am 10 and a half years old. I love everything most kids do. I love my family, playing, church and Jesus. I was told on Friday April 11, that I have Leukemia. The last month or so, I haven't been able to do much of anything I love though, because I hurt alot. Please pray for me through my treatment, I need it alot. (written by Uncle Ryan)

Hello-
Kamelah made counts yesterday and started her next phase of chemotherapy.....phase 3 of 4 before 'maintenance'. Yesterday marks the date two years out from the conclusion of treatment!!! 8/5/2010 she will be finished with chemotherapy. This next phase will be 56 days and then the 4th will be 57 days of intense chemotherapy before entering maintenance.....112 days and counting (plus any delays).
Yesterday she received 4 types of medicine! Two in her IV, one in back and 2 shots in her leg. She didn't feel very good at the end of the day....and woke up today feeling very crummy! I brought her into the clinic for anti-nausea medicine IV and fluids. She is starting to feel better. She comes back tomorrow for the next set of shots....! She should get frequent flyer points for all the trips up here! Every other day plus until next Friday!
We had a GREAT time at the Snake River and Kamelah was able to play/swim and tube a ton! The weather was great and seeing all our 'summer friends' was awesome!
She started not feeling good on the way home (stomach pain). She stayed home from camp until the next day and thought she was on the mend so I took the girls to Tillaook but Kamelah continued to have stomach pains. I picked her up on Tuesday and brought her to the clinic Wednesday for pain medicine and fluids and then she was able to finish her week strong with a slumber party with SJA friends to celebrate with Maddie!!!!
During all the work up last week for her stomach pains we discovered it looks like her kidney stone may still be hanging out (waiting to cause trouble again?). We will follow up with a urology doctor in September. Sometimes the smallest thing can be a very large thorn....!
Thanks for all the notes and words of encouragement! She still has some tough days, weeks/months ahead. We appreciate every hope, thought, wish, and prayer!!
Take care and enjoy the summer weather!
