My Story

Kai Erik Wilson is 19 years old and was a freshman at the U of M. He suffered a brain injury 10/25/08 in a fall at the U of M. He was at HCMC, Bethesda and Courage Center-Golden Valley. He came home 12/24.08 just in time for Christmas Eve with family. He will do outpatient therapy for his hand and memory.

Hi everyone,

Well, the big day arrived. Kai is free, on the road.

Brother Ben fixed his car, the insurance is reinstated and Kai took me out on the road. He drove the two of us to Courage Center to see his doctor. His doctor continues to be amazed at his recovery to date.

The blessings continue to abound. Thanks to all of you who have continued to send cards, inspirational words, gifts etc. Dinner tonight was great Kathi, Jay, Taylor and Tanner. Thanks Jennifer & Rob, Nancy and Virg for the wonderful honey baked ham this past weekend. He appreciates the fact he doesn't have to figure out lunch, loves the left overs. He never did like to cook!!!

He has gained 8 lbs and is busy doing the Wii Fitness, Snowboard game and NBA basketball for exercise. He started lifting some weights, he wants to get back into shape. The doctor said he could try to work a few hours a day if he can return to Famous Dave's or find some other part time work.
