Keep on praying! To you, God's faithful warriors, He is blessing Kaitlyn and we are seeing rapid progress in her language development. It's like a light is coming on!

Friday, Kaitlyn said "buh-buh" for bubbles! Saturday, she called Kendal "addy" three times! We're getting really close to a "moo" and "hi."

Kaitlyn was reviewed by four of her six therapists for an annual progress report. The results have not all been shared with us, but they say she is very bright and really doing fantastic. She has made so much progress. Although I am often discouraged that she is delayed, it could be so much worse! I have so much to be thankful for! A year ago April 30th she received her hearing aids. Can you imagine? I can't. At that time her hearing loss was severe so until that moment, she had never heard anyone (but God) speak, not even in utero. Now, she knows her name and recognizes and responds to over 75 words/commands as demonstrated by her behavior!! Soon, she's going to catch all of her little friends and I'll be wishing the therapists would take her to give me a break! ;)

Twice a week, she goes for therapy for three hours. I was nervous about that, but they all say she is so happy there. She is watching the other kids, making friends with all the therapists, and grunting and growling at her PT and then reaching for him. She just loves them (and so do we)!

Sincerely, we thank you for your prayers from the bottom of our hearts. I thank God I am not alone to bear the burden of prayer.

Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. ~Isaiah 12:2

The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid? ~Psalm 27:1

Satan attacks me almost every day at one moment or another with fear that things will not be okay, with anxiety that I'm not doing enough, with doubt that verbal language alone is sufficient, shouldn't she learn sign? He whispers lies and the spiritual battle seems almost like real life. I shut out those thoughts as best I can, but only in gratefulness, in true appreciation for God's goodness, only in His mercy and grace do they go away. I am sure all parents have doubts and worries about their children so I know you know where I am coming from. Only God can quiet the enemy and give us peace. Stay strong, the Lord is there with you.

1 I love you, O LORD, my strength.

2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn [a] of my salvation, my stronghold.

3 I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
and I am saved from my enemies. ~Psalm 18:1-3

Stay tuned, this girl is going to take her first step solo any day now! Yippee!
