Kaitlin is now attending school, full time a few days a week.
She still continues her intensive outpatient therapy and
regular checkups. She is supposed to be using the elevator at
school, but I suspect the elevator has not seen a lot of use.
She pushes herself (probably way too hard) and is often
exhausted at the end of a day. Of course she is one of the
most prideful stubborn people I know and will not admit
to any "problems." Of course it is her fierce determination
that has resulted in her progress.
We still worry about the heart. The fractures are healing. We
don't know if there will be any long term complications
but hope if there are, they are minor.
We are still astounded by the oupouring of love and good
wishes from people all over the country.
The girls cross country team was especially helpful during
those first critical weeks. Coach Scmaltz has been so
good to Kaitlin and our family. He was recently voted
District Coach of the Year. I cannot think of someone more
deserving.
Thanks to all of the cards, phone calls and dinners. Thanks
to her dad in NC and his family for all their support. Thanks
to her sister Jessalyn and her best friend Mackenzie. A
special thanks to my husband Curt struck for the long
hours he has spent taking care of her and driving her
around.
We will be shutting down the web-site soon. Our prayers
have been answered.
Love to you all,
Megan Fairall (mom)
