My Story

Justin is a wonderful, active three year old boy who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma on June 11, 2007. Prior to his diagnosis he was complaining of leg pain, stomach pains and was running a fever. We thought that he had Juvenile Rhuematoid Arthritis.

Justin is HAMA negative.  We will be flying to NYC on Sunday for him to receive another cycle of 3f8.  He was watching TV with his brothers when I called NY to get his HAMA results.  I heard him tell Josh " I hope I am positive.  I hate that treatment".  It amazes me how much he understands now that he is older. The other day he heard me talking about Farran Fawcett and he asked, "Why would she die from cancer? Cancer doesn't make you die." I had hoped that Justin would be NED and out of treatment before he realized what exactly cancer is.  While I am so happy, blessed and fortunate to have him with us two years later it is something that Jon and I will have to help him deal with as he gets older and understands more and more about his disease.  Please keep Justin in your prayers this week as he receives treatment.  Also, please say some extra prayers for our friends Kate, Eli, and Jack who are HAMA positive and can't receive 3f8 treatment yet. As always thanks so much for all your support.
Love,
Robyn
