hello everyone, Woke up and could not go back to sleep so I am sitting at the computer. Justine's surgery on friday went well. They scoped all her trachea and her larynx and they said it looks better than expected. There is a little extra skin growth from the trach tube rubbing but nothing she (the ENT) is worried about. Justine had a good weekend. The kids just hung-out and me and my husband had a well deserved date night. We had lots of fun. We went to dinner and to the improv and watched some comedians. I think having a good laugh every now and then is so healing. I woke up the next day tired but with a renewed outlook. Last week we had our yearly visit from the court investigators. We filed limited conservatorship because of her severe disability, that what was required, they have to visit once a year now. They check out all her equipment, her sleeping area, her nails to make sure they are trimmed, everything. My Aunt works for the Adult Protective services and I understand why they have these laws. I can say last year i felt insulted because I have cared for her for her whole life by myself with no nursing. She has surpassed her life expectancy by 10 years and now that she is an adult you want to check on her. But there is a lot of neglect out there and our family and I take good care of Justine so there is no worries and the investigators so far are extremely nice. Oh well I checked in on all my friends already and I am glad to see everyone is doing great. I have to try to get back to bed now and i will update soon. Jodi
