How painful to read about Jo's passing.  Many here including her immediate family probably will not know the many that have been touched by Jo; her smile and laughter, her thoughts and care and her open invitation.  I  me t my friend, Jo at Tori in the 80'd. We became fellow pilgrims with our usual walk along that creek. Just the two of us. Jo invited me to stay her place off of Sheridan rd. Chicago of course and then to that beautiful place that her son, BJ build for her. she would mention you, BJ, to this stranger. I hadn't seen J since 1998 until Vera and Kenny came out here and some of us met a Pike Lake Starte Park where she visited. I took some photos and will send copies to the family.

My condolences to Jo's family, her friends and other loved ones. This earth was wonderfully touched by her walk here and may we all be inspired by her life, her eyes, and the light passing through her and on to our hearts touche forever.  Jo , My friend , I will miss you forever. Thank you for blessing my life. Josef Bieniek

Dear BJ,

I extend my heartfelt sympathy for your loss, and the world's loss of a terrific and vibrant woman. Jo was a great friend and a wonderful human being. I will miss her presence very much, but her laughter still echoes in my mind and her smiling face will walk the corridors of time with me until I see her again. God bless Jo, a most remarkable woman.

With great respect, and admiration for your mother,

Tom

Dear Tom, BJ and Brent and Jo's extended family.  Thank you so much for the way you helped Jo get through this illness and finally death.  It helped me and I'm sure all of her friends feel comforted by being able to be in touch with her through Caring Bridge if not in person.  I don't travel much these days as Gordon is challenged by his illness and prefers that I stay home with him, but my heart will be there in the memorial service for Jo.  Her life and now her death have been a model for me.  Joan

BJ,

My heart goes out to you and your family.  The mental anguish that accompanies a diagnosis such as this, is nearly as hard as having the disease itself.  I can speak from experience.  Jo had so many wonderful friends.  It will be hard to be without her.

God Bless you and give you comfort.

So many memories, yet so little time

What JoAnn brought to life was inspired by the divine

The mysteries of every day may never be explained

But celebrating life subsides any pain

JoAnn will be missed, loved far and wide

Over and yonder, the great divides

Her spirit gently ventures forth, as a bird in the sky

Diving then catching the wind on uprise

Carried between the uprising mountains to the vast open water and lands

Her essence soars then reaches out to our hands.

Good morning Jo and Family,

This melody from a childhood in the 50's came to me and seems to fit so often.....here goes:

Peace I ask of thee oh river, peace - peace -  peace

When I learn to live serenely, cares will cease

From the hills I gather courage

Visions of the days to be

Strength to lead and faith to follow

All are given un to me

Thank you for sharing your peacefilled river and now

Peace and courage and strength and most importantly LOVE to you

Jo,  Your party was a living tribute.  It was a privilege to meet your loving family.  It was difficult to find words to say goodbye, so I attached a little plaque to a vase of flowers that I hope brought courage to your heart and a smile to your face.

I know God will welcome you with open arms, Jo.
