Journal entry by Joslyn Nollette —
Our 8# 7oz. baby girl celebrated her 100th day in the NICU on Friday, she has had mom and dad sleep over two nights with her, they are good nights for Bexley, short nights for mom and dad. We are starting to get a little bit of cabin fever as we are waiting for Bexley to take 80% of her feeds by bottle so we can get rid of the feeding tube and start working on shift goals before proceeding with a sleep study and car seat test. So far Bexley has mastered one full feed and came close to many others, her highest shift percentage at the moment is 62%. They always told us that the feeding process would be the longest part of our NICU stay and that is so true especially when we are so anxious to get back to the Sandhills to get settled in our new home and hopefully have a few weeks at home with Bexley before we return back to school on the 13th. This week we hope to have our care management meeting with our care team here and our pediatrician in North Platte, we also plan to make a day trip to North Platte in the near future to pick up her oxygen and monitor that we will be going home with whenever that happens, we all hope soon! Thursday will be 40 weeks marking the 106th day in the NICU, what a journey it has been.
