Josie CELEBRATED her 6th BIRTHDAY!!!  She enjoyed a family birthday party.  We continue to be proud of her and everything she does.  This year we will continue to come up with new goals for her.  We are hopeing this year she will learn to get herself dressed.  It could be a challenge with shirts.  Have you every tried to put a shirt on one handed?

Josie continues to do good.  She is staying so busy this summer we can't fit everything into her schdule.  She just finished T-ball.  We were lucky to have such GREAT coaches and helpers.  THANKS SO MUCH!!!  Josie enjoyed it.

She just started up swimming lessons again.  She is a fish.  She will start horse back riding this September. Josie has been busy going to vacation bible school, camps, therapy, learning to ride a bike and playing with her friends.

July 9th through the 13th Josie and I get to go to Baltimore, MD.  We are very, very EXCITED!!!  We are going to our first hemispherectomy conference/reunion.  We will meet other kids and families that have gone through the same thing as Josie.  Josie will get to go to kids camp at the conference (hemispherectomy children only).  There she will get to learn how to do different things one handed.  She will get to interact with other kids that have had hemispherectomies.  Hopefully she will learn a thing or two from them.

Lately she has been trying to tell us she can't do something because she only uses one hand.  We continue to encourage her and give her suggestions on how to do things one handed.  Hopefully we will learn how to tie a shoe one handed.  WE LOVE CHALLENGES!!!  Josie is doing good.  She finds funny and interesting ways to do the simplest tasks.  We are very proud of her.

I get to sit in with other family members and learn about educating our AWESOME kids.  We will learn all sorts of different tools to take with us.  We will also get to meet a few of the top neurologists and neurosurgeons in the world.

Josie and I get to join the Hemispherectomy Choir.  YES, A CHOIR.  Josie is a good singer.  We also get to go to a swimming party and PJ party.  It sounds like we will be keeping busy and having fun.  They are even having a TALENT SHOW and will teach Josie a few special dances.  Josie and I are looking forward to it.  Maybe Josie will show you her new moves when she gets home.

We will be rooming with some friends of ours from Iowa.  Rachel and Roxanne Cogill will meet up with us in Baltimore.  We are looking forward to visiting with them and all the hemispherectomy families.

Have a Wonderful 4th of July and be SAFE.  Thanks for your support through our jorney.
