We are DONE....I can't believe it is finally here. When we heard 2 1/2 years ago all that we had in store to fight with Josie for her life, we never imagined the changes our lives would take and truely how strong our family was. It amazes me at times to think how great it is to know that when a awful event happens in our lives we now know how to rally around each other and kick butt. This whole cancer thing has really "weeded" out the part of the family that I guess was never really meant to be. It has happened like it should...as sad as that might sound, we have definately learned so much. We are still fighting every day for Josie to stay healthy and that unfortunately will never leave our thoughts and prayers. It will be a lifelong worry for daddy and me. I'm sure for others too but we will all get through the worries with each other by our sides. I do just truely want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts who continued to check on us often and send encouraging notes in the guestbook and for Donna who never failed to send me an uplifting email every single time I needed one. It is all of you who helped make this as "smooth" as it possibly can be. I have updated Josie's pictures and for those of you who didn't see it, last Saturday on the front page was an article about Josie along with other survivors from the Relay for Life. It was the first time we had ever gone and believe me we will be going every single year. It was so uplifting and amazing. They announced there that there was a special girl in the audience and that night was her very last time to take her chemo. Then they announced her name and everyone cheered. It was sooo cute, Josie was all excited and I was waving her arms and all of us were cheering then she heard her name and that was it....in hiding she went. We all had a blast then we came back here for pizza and the flushing of the medicine. Josie went in yesterday for a consult for her port removal and they have scheduled it for June 13th...yes that is Friday the 13th. It will be great to finally get that out....the last real reminder that she even had cancer. She still has to take her antibiotics for about 6 months but that is only twice a week, so not bad, we can deal with that. June 2nd was her Off chemo party at clinic. It was a full house as me, Ethan, Colton, Grandma Sandy, Grandma Sue, Aunt Kelsie, and Papa Ralph were all there...Aunt Cassie was there in thought as we knew she wanted to be there but had to work :-) They had decorated the door for Josie and we brought the cupcakes and they sang to her and had her wear the no chemo hat. It was great. I'll try to update after her surgery on the 13th..please say extra prayers that everything goes well. Hope all is going well for everyone.
