FROM FRIENDS OF THE WILSON'S: KEEP PRAYING!!

My name is Jordan Wilson & until December 2007 I was a "normal" senior in high school gearing up for the golf team, doing martial arts & all the other things a 17 year old does. My whole life changed when I was diagnosed with T-cell leukemia. Our family & friends have rallied around us & by the grace of God, I will be declared cancer free in December 2009.

Just read in the Hickory Daily Record that several clubs at Maiden High School are hosting a fundraiser "That's What Friends Are For" Day on Saturday. The event is to help raise money for 2 Maiden High students who are fighting cancer. There will be a hamburger, hot dog and bake sale along with a car wash. Come by the fire department Saturday from 9am-2pm. I am not posting their names since I haven't received permission--but folks, that is 2 more children in this county that have cancer. That is scary. Just a prime example that we need to do all we can to raise awareness of Childhood Cancers.

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY, Vinny DiGerolamo!!

"Hope is what tells us to hang on when we're about to let go. It whispers in our ears that things will get better. It gives us the patience to let the treatment do its job. It helps us believe that the situation will change, if not in the way we want it to, then in a way that will ultimately bring some good that we can see. It reminds us that tomorrow is another day." (-from "Ouch" by Martha Bolton)

Psalm 71:14 says, "But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise You more and more."

(Thank you Jane Allen for providing the inspirational thought for today!)
