Jonah has been doing well, just a little cold again, but he seems to get them and get over them often without having to see the pediatrician.
Yesterday morning we had a parent/teacher conference at the preschool. The teacher, Mrs. Unruh discussed Jonah's testing scores and said he scored well even without verbalizing. She knows he's really smart he just can't express it. The teacher said Jonah has become more and more independent, saying, "Nonah" and pointing to himself when he wants to do things himself. :) The PT, Laura, was at the conference to discuss her feelings about Jonah. She is going to order Spio's for him since they have seen a big improvement in his movements when using them. So, hopefully that will get moving soon. Mrs. Unruh, Brad, and I feel that one more year in preschool would benefit Jonah. Jonah will be five in February, so he will be six when he starts kindergarten, but we're hoping and praying Jonah will either be dependent on his walker or walking on his own by fall of 2010. Also, that he is able to communicate so most can understand him.
When Jonah came home after school he was wearing a headband and necklace he had made at school. I will post a picture of him. All the kids had different names on their headband and Jonah's said, "Cheif Big Heart". :)
Yesterday afternoon, Jonah had a follow-up appointment at the pediatricians for the UTI, MRSA staph infection. They took another urine sample to make sure the infection is gone and the pediatrician just called and said his urine is clear!!!!! YAY! The anti-biotics worked! Prayers work! :)
We were able to schedule the LPscan for January 21st at 9:00am. They will sedate him, do the LPscan, then at 10:30am while he's still sedated, the oral surgeon will take the growth out of Jonah's mouth. I am so thankful we are able to get them done at the same time!
Please also pray that Jonah gets his own walker soon which Katy at MCPT is working on. Pray that the braces and twister cable all get approved soon, so Jonah can start using them. Pray for Jonah's body to heal, grow, and become stronger.
We hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! Count your blessings!
Love,
Amber, Brad, Jonah, and Myles
