Have no far - John is Here!!!  My sister, Ann spent the day with John and she told me a darling recap of a moment that should tell the world that the real John Murphy is with us. A long term resident from CareMeridian left today.  A huge loss for all of the staff, families, and fellow patients, John is a special guy. We so wish him the best, love him dearly and thank him for everything he has done for John M.
John M. appeared sleepy, and when "Big John" noticed, mentioned it to our John, he opened his eyes, taking his right hand, John hit each cheek with a few smacks and then pushed his chin up and gave the biggest grin to all. John Murph has always had the silent humor that would lift a dull moment, and quietly would make all of us laugh our heads off.He did it everywhere.  As John spent many hours motionless last fall, I prayed that some of the old John would still be there. He is.  Thank God.
John walked to town today through the small streets, and when Ann asked where he walked, John said clearly, "I walked over one mile." Proud, he was beaming.  Kevin helped John do knee bends, leg squats,  arm lifts, and tongue exercises. John is so energized since the weekend.
I noticed tonight that John has had over 300.000 hits on this web page. That makes me tearful. So much love is in the air. I would not be standing tall today without each of you. Our life has been changed forever, but things are good. John is here, alive, strong and improving each day. His desire is so strong. His teacher,Monica, O'C from 8th grade, always said, John had the talents to do anything in life  when he had the desire. She was so right. We can't wait for the weekend to wet his appetite for more challenges when we bring him home for another visit.
Happy Weds. and until the next time we meet, remember we are all blessed with special gifts. Don't be afraid to share with a new friend or stranger. John is a legend around CareMeridian. He cruises in his wheelchair at night and in the early morning into each patients' room checking things out and greeting them. We all love it.  He has some physical and mental challenges, but continues to shine through the clouds. Thank you God for loving him and giving him another chance.
