My name is John Hanna and I'm a 35 year old FA patient. Fanconi Anemia is a rare disease that normally causes bone marrow failure at an early age. It is also associated with a high incidence of cancers of the head and neck. I was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in situ on my tongue in March 2007. This is my story.

Hello. This will be a very quick update on the pathology results. NO malignancy, NO dysplasia!! There were a few abnormal cells but they were more akin to a yeast-type infection. They was no evidence of dysplasia. All in all, it was a best possible outcome. Thank you all for your prayers and support. I am extremely happy right now as you would expect. I know that the highest liklihood of a second cancer is within the first 10 months so I feel like I have a good chance to hit that mark right now which would be a big milestone in my mind. Now I just have to hope my lasered area heals up correctly. I'm not too concerned though. Everything else has healed up well over time.

Time to get back to work for me. Thank you all!

John
