Hey John,Good to hear from you. So glad to hear you are walking better and doing some cross country skiing. I know how you feel a little after doing pretty much what you wanted to physically for so long to have these restrictions. After my two level back fusion two years ago I finally made it back out on slopes this year so that was great to do. Had supper the other night with Jim Breasted and we talked about you and look forward to seeing you when you get back to the mountains. It is really dry here and did not have much of a winter in Carbondale. I think our driveway only go plowed once with snow over 4 inches. I saw this morning that 98% of  State is in drought and with all the beetle kill trees hopefully we wont have a bunch of fires this summer. Carly and my daughter Shiloh is in her junior year at Roaring Fork High School and will head off to college in a year?? Miss seeing you at the Ranch House and around. You are on my morning prayer list so keep me posted and I will see you when you come to Town. God Bless Frosty

John,

It's hard to think it's been a year and a half (or so) since you got a fresh set of challenges in life.  I'm impressed that you've completed (yet another) race... congrats!  You continue to stand as an example of what's possible, and a gentle chiding reminder for many of us ;)

Out in my neck of the woods, Progress is going strong with the new OpenEdge11 Release Roadshow (sponsored by PSC, it's our April PUG meeting).  I'm looking forward to that in a couple of weeks, just to get refreshed on some of the neat things Progress has added like multi-tenancy (sharing subsets of the data in the database) and more security features... nice stuff!

I also got the chance to use your name recently, holding you up as an example of someone who knows how to deliver a presentation (like a user group session) that shares knowledge, demonstrates that you're an expert, and guides people to a reliable resource for getting help.  Selling without selling... everyone wins!

I remain happy for your progress (no pun intended ;) ) and hope things continue to move forward for you... all good thoughts and prayers happily included.

Hey John,
Way to go on the 5k walk!  In so many ways I would consider this accomplishment a PB, personal best.  When you consider all the drive that got you to where you could finish such an event and "tell the tale" afterwards, how could it not be a "best"?
With admiration,
Steve

HI John and Hedda,

Good job on the 5km walk.  You are both an inspiration.  Not only for your physical accomplishments.  It seems that you are already a better typisst than I am.

Keep at it.

You are missing one lousy ski season in Truckee.  I think it is the worst on record.  We'll be thinking of you.
