Thank you for sharing your recovery with us. Your message today reminds all of us to never take our health, each sunrise, each cuddle and our joy for granted. Thanks for being here for all of us.

John, you do not really know me, but I am Derek Bierman's asst. at NECC, and I am extremely happy for your return home!  Some of the best healing is done at home.  I have to say I have been following your entries and keeping Derek posted on your recovery, but you are an inspiration to us all!  Good luck on your road to recovery!  Also, have you ever thought of being a writer:)  You have the most amazing gift of putting your thoughts on paper for us all to read!  Take care and God Bless!

Welcome Home John and Ann!  It was so great to see you today.  I feel like we (WSC, Wayne) are finally complete again.  I know you are still healing, but you look just like the John I last saw in October!!!  We're neighbors, you know, so if you and Ann ever need anything . . .

I saw the pictures of your arrival at WSC today.  Words cannot express how happy I am for your remarkable progress.  I am most impressed by your attitude and determination however.  God bless you as you continue to recover and rebuild.

A well deserved welcome, John! Wayne is such a special place, isn't it?  And I have no doubt the four-legged kids will be celebrating your homecoming as well!

    Congratulations, young man!

You can do this!  Keep the faith, work hard, rest a bit and we'll see you back at the College in no time!

John, you continue to be such an inspiration to all of us who are blessed by knowing you!  I'm delivering the message at our lay led service next Sunday, Jan. 12th.  Please know your words, thru my message, will be shared with others who don't know you, but have been praying for you.  The Lord is truly using you - albeit in very challenging ways, John - to remind an entire community of believers of what true faith really means!

May He continue to bless and comfort you, Ann, and your mom.

I just read your latest entry (Carol) and it makes me miss you all even more. I was talking about you last night at work trying to relay the precious gifts you all were to all of us in Sioux City. What we as ICU nurses are called to do.....to bring support, hope, and encouragement to those in crisis....that is what you, Ann and John did for us!
The light of Christ is so bright in all of you....and His hand has been continually evident as I have seen personally through your miraculous recovery in Sioux City and in reading here in your writings. Thank you for sharing your hearts so transparently. May God's most Tender Mercies be yours!! With love and prayers,

    Deb from ICU

Isn't if fun to walk backwards? It's also scary but so is all progress and change at this stage of therapy. No cane? That's so good to hear. You are doing great so keep up the good work. Your family is also doing a wonderful job of supporting you. It's tough when you have a setback, like your throat/virus but you will be feeling better soon and back at your therapy..I believe miracles are possible for all of us including your remarkable recovery. Take a moment, feel good about being a 'miracle' and then get back at your PT so you can gain and maintain momentum. I'm glad they are taking good care of you down at Madonna! Hooray for the therapists, doctors, and nurses who are helping you get back to being you.

Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year to you and your family!
