John continues to work hard in all areas, knowing that there is actually a light at the end of this tunnel. Many of you, and myself included, are wondering 'when is John coming home, for good?' I don't have the answer to that question. As long as John continues to make the weekly gains, and goals given to him by his therapists, he will remain at St Johnland. At some point, he will obviously come home. We all can NOT wait until that time, but understand that John should stay where he is and get the MOST from the current placement.
I am touring several Out Patient facilities, in anticipation for John's discharge. Today I will visit St Charles-Port Jeff. There they have PT, OT, Speech and a re-entry program with a dedicated coordinator. Unfortunately, the Center for Cognition also in Port Jeff closed their LI site. They only have a NYC location.
This evening Ryan and Robby and I are taking John out for dinner.
