We just returned from Mayo Clinic and are 6 weeks out from the removal of his spica cast.  Joey had his hips x-rayed again today and the ortho surg doc gave the go ahead to return to Physical and Occupational Therapies!  YEH!  Time to begin putting pressure on his legs again that means.  I am not sure Joey will agree with that nor be happy when we try but it is great to hear things are healing well and that he is ready to be worked with again.  Now I just have to decide if I want Joey to work with the home therapy team or with an outside PT group.  Pros and cons both ways...

Joey also saw his GI doc and had a test to check/x-rays to check his nissen and reflux issues via the g-tube with barium.  All looked well so the doc is wondering if the gagging is either caused by muscle tightness throughout his body affecting him while he is getting food or due to a couple other possibilities.  But the plan is to first see if increasing his muscle relaxer (it hasn't been increased in over 2 years) will help.  If that doesn't she may want to do a few more tests to check for ulcers and etc.  She also suggested I try to return to Pediasure for a couple of days since I have some in the home and if that cuts down the gagging then we will go back to it, but she thinks this is NOT the problem-but worth a check...

Joey has been talking so much more lately!  It is awesome to hear some of the things he says and I can't be more thrilled.  Now if we can get him moving again!  :)

Thanks for your prayers!
