Cheryl,

I hope that you and the Dooley family had a wonderful Thanksgiving day at Angela's.  We were thinking of you as we sat outside in 82 degree weather having our turkey dinner!  We watched a great movie last night "The Red Baron" and thought of you and Joe and all of your aviator friends.  We are looking forward to you visiting us soon!  God bless you--we know that God has already blessed Joe!  Love, Colleen & Sal

Hi Cheryl - I'm Michael's sister and wanted to say how much we enjoyed our afternoon in Hutchinson. What an awesome tribute to Joe. My son had the privilege of going flying with Joe during a family Thanksgiving celebration in Hutchinson a few years ago, and we feel so honored that he was able to do that. I'm so glad we took photos on that day.

Joe made a tremendous impact during his short life. I feel honored that we got to know him and you through Michael and Kathy. Thanks for an amazing air show - it was our first one, and we started with the best one ever!!  See you soon!

What an awesome day yesterday was!!!  I was so moved by it all and got emotional at times also.

You put on the BEST AIRSHOW I've seen!!!  Peyton and Brianna loved riding with the pilots and asking them questions right alone with me.  Thank you for asking me to do that.  I was honored you asked me.

The kids just loved it all.  I wanted to go up and do some flips and turns myself..... one day I hope to do just that soon :)

It was a great way to honor such a wonderful man who is missed so very much each day.

Love you,
Angie, Tyler, Peyton and Brianna

Wow! What a fabulous crowd for the airshow and naming ceremony that Joe "wouldn't have wanted"! I have never seen an airshow before so I was as entralled as our children were!

Thank you for allowing us the honor of helping to celebrate the life of a great man.

Peace...

Hi Cheryl -

First of all we want to say THANK YOU for the awesome airshow today!  I wanted to come over and say hi and hug you, but didn't get the right chance.  We all loved it!  We hadn't been to one before and we had the best time ever.  Us adults loved it as much as the kids.  Eamonn and Eavan would love to go up with you or someone else sometime.  They both loved seeing Joe at the airport and sitting in his plane.  He was so kind to them.  They may be hooked! Especially Eamonn!  Lessons in the future???
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the day.  It was wonderful and we had a great family day there.  It was great to see the whole community there together for one purpose - Joe!  Let's stay in touch and do lunch again.

Thank you so much!

Hi Cheryl,
Good to read your update and all that you've been up to with the dedication planning and flying.  You are an awesome lady and Joe would be so proud of all that you've done and accomplished.  I'm sure there are some "tough" days or moments but you seem to always have a smile on your face and such a "positive" attitude.  We're looking forward to the dedication and will pray for beautiful weather.

Take care,
Lou Ann & Dave

Hi Cheryl,
Oh, it was so good to get your journal entry! I miss you!! My parents are here from FLA. and having a lovely time. They leave for So. Dak. some time next week, so Rob and I will give you a call for dinner. We'll hope for a night when we don't have any more crazy storms!!
I'm glad to hear about the dedication for Joe...it's no surprise so many want to be there to honor him. Have a great 4th and we'll see you soon.
Love, Deb and Rob

HI Cheryl,
We thought of you and Joe last weekend as we watched the Air Show in St. Cloud! Wow!
On Sunday we volunteered at our son's Boy Scout Hot Dog Stand. In about 7 hours we prepared and sold close to $10,000 worth of hot dogs, pop and chips!
So, now we would love to help you in any way on August 7th! We are looking forward to being with you on that very special day.
Joe will always have a special place in our hearts. I can see his smile as he looks down on you, "that's my girl!"
hugs,
Sharon and Dale Hultgren

Hi Cheryl - just thought I would drop you a line.  I see you drive from time to time and wonder how you are doing, especially since Joe passed just two months after my mom.  Although I did not lose my spouse, I too am learning to go forward and live without my mom/best friend.  Like you said, "this new life".  One does learn to go forward, but there is still a hole there and I think there always will be.  Mother's day week was hard for me.  First, Sunday was Mother's Day, then that Thursday May 13th would have been my mom's birthday and then Sunday the 16th was the 7 month Anniversary of her passing.  Three major markers all in one week.  All these firsts are good, but strange to get out of the way.
My mom always said, "Keep going forward".  So day by day, I try.  It is hard, but with God, family & friends - we are making it and will.  When you are sad or need someone to chat with, call me.  I am there with you too.  Maybe we should do lunch one day!  I hope things are going better for you too and we will just keep going forward, one day at a time!

Thinking of you ~

Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear you are doing okay. I was in Rugby this weekend for mom's 88th birthday. Jeff called and told us about Loren Erickson's grandson. How sad. I used to babysit James many years ago.

Take good care of yourself and let's plan a time when you can touch down in Fargo for supper with your Fay cousins.
