Joan was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer/liver cancer on July 30. She began chemotherapy on July 31. Her goal is to live to September 22 to celebrate her and Fred's 65th wedding anniversary.

Good news today...the tumor markers dropped 500 points; the blood work as far as the liver is near normal and the hemocrit is improved...so all is going well as the tumors continue to shrink. So, the chemo will not be as aggressive (we do not know what this means yet). Joan is beginning to gain some strength, but she is pretty thin. The swelling and bloating are nearly gone...YEAH!

I may not write until things show some significant change. Keep in touch with Joan and Fred as you have. They appreciate the care and concern.
