Tony and I met Jim at an early Minnecon and irregularly afterwards at Minnecons, Minneapolis in '73 parties, and various worldcons. He was always interesting and fun. Even when he worked for the State Department and you knew he couldn't talk about most of what he did, he was still great to have a conversation with. When he retired and burst forth into two new careers, it was inspiring!  Even his FaceBook posts were fascinating.

He was SO cool! He had so many plans!
