My Story

Jim was diagnosed with liver cancer in December of 2002.  He successfully received a liver transplant Father's Day, June 2003. Follow-up appointments at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd anniversaries of the transplant showed him to be presumably cancer-free. He was rediagnosed with cancer May 2007. He underwent surgery to have a lobe of his liver removed in July 2007. Jim was diagnosed as terminal in April 2008. He was remarkably healthy, enjoying his family and friends, work, travel, and fishing most of his last 18 months of life.
