Good Afternoon Everyone,

Just time for a short update before I head off to the hospital.  I'm staying with Jon for the first part of tis visit.  If it is short enough, I may stay here for the duration.

As of last night when I left the hospital, Jim was doing very well.  His vitals are excellent.  So far there are no issues with his lungs at all.  On Saturday and Sunday he only needed trach suctioning first thing in the morning and last thing at night.  I don't know if this is because he is not moving or just the state of his lungs.

This stay is in many ways more difficult because of being on his back in his room all of the time.  They changed the bed and took him off the sand bed.  The doctors felt it was too hard to work on him, and they have had more success with a firmer air mattress.  Sorry I don't know the name of it.  So far it looks like they are right.  He is listening to books, and we've moved his bed so he can see both the sky and the T.V.. If you have any suggestions for good books, we would appreciate it.  He is almost finished with the one from Gene and Bev and is looking for more.

Please keep Jim in your thoughts and prayers so he can get home as soon as possible to enjoy the beautiful fall weather that is coming.
