Good Evening all.
I can't believe that July is here and that June has come and literally gone.
Well, to play catch up!! School ended for the girls on the 12th of June. I'm so proud of Clara---straight A's for the last quarter. She has worked so hard. We are so proud her!!! We had to wait till for about a week to get Jessica's report card. What an AWESOME job she did too. For the whole school year she pulled a 3.0 GPA. With all that she had to encounter throughout the school year, she worked very hard and gave it her best. Thanks to all of her teachers and counselors who have gotten her this far. Speaking of far--she has now graduated Jr High--I can't believe that we now have a FRESHMAN!!
The first week of summer break, Jessica kind of laid low so that she could be well enough to go with her Youth Church to HOPE COLLEGE in Michigan. Clara was signed up for MAD (Music, Art, and Drama) CAMP. This was a lot of fun for her. She took vocals, choir group, drama, dance, and handbells. I had volunteered to help with snacks, but by day two, I was called to help teach drama class because the teacher had some medical issues. I have to admit I was very scared at first, but by the end, I was having a blast. Some of my acting skills, when I was younger, did come back into play. They have twisted my arm to teach it next year. Actually I'm really looking forward to it.
Thanks to our wonderful neighbor and friend Mollie---Jessica has decided to get her hair cut. She wanted her hair to look healthy. She looks very cute. Promise to get that picture up here soon. Her response was "I look healthy!!" My heart was just lifted.
The next week, June 22, Clara and I took Jessica up to the church to say goodbye to Jess and the group. MOVE 09 is what the theme was. This is through CIY (Christ in Youth). Jessica was very excited till they arrived. When they got to the dorms, they found out that they didn't have air condition. I got a text saying that we should of gotten a fan. My response was, "take a cold shower". HAHA!! To say the least, she wasn't happy with my answer. I will have to her post her experience. To say the least, she had me in tears because again I could hear GOD's voice speaking through her. She also felt it too.
For that week, Clara and I got to spend a lot of time together. We got up and did our devotions every day and took the dogs for a walk. She was also there to lend a helping hand when I needed it. It even came with a smile :). She also got to spend time with a friend Lauren P. They went to the movies to see Surf Up. Totally a must see, I was informed. Then on Wednesday, she went swimming with her Youth Church. Thursday was Kings Island day also with her Youth Church. Yes, she rode the new roller coaster--Diamond Back. She has no fear!! Friday, Clara and I made it to the YMCA at 9:30am to do a Zumba class with my Mom. What an experience!!! We had so much fun. From there, she went back and hung out with "Mamaw and Papaw". She enjoyed playing games with them.
Saturday, Jessica made it home, for us to get Clara packed for a last minute basketball overnight camp at Cedarville College. Emma's sister (Clara's friend)is attending there in the fall. She was so excited to get a chance to attend a college too. Her trip was Sunday thru today (July 2). Blisters, knowledge, and how to use Basketball to also serve Christ. I'm looking forward to hearing about more this experience.
Tuesday I got a phone call from Children's regarding the bloodwork that was done by Endocrine about a month ago. All the hormones and thyroid came back ok except for her Vit. D. She is now deficient in this catergory. We have to give her a supplement. She is fine with this. My mind did start wandering because we are coming up on scans. What else isn't working. UGH!! We also had to get blood work done yesterday to see how everything else going because chemo has to be restarted. Got the call from Heather, NP, that all her labs look good, and so she started chemo last night. On Tuesday and Wednesday (7th and 8th) we are having our routine scans. Please say some extra prayers that everything is going well and for my nerves to settle down. I know I shouldn't worry about things I can't control. It's in GOD's hands!!
I'm excited to say that I'm off of work tomorrow. So with that said, we have some friends of ours that we haven't seen since 05 when we met them at the Lighthouse (Carrie, Ken, and Leah). We are meeting up with them at the Creation Museum. We are so excited to see something exciting and to have fellowship.
Zachary is Zachary. We are still praying for guidance and a good path that he should take.
Hope everyone has a GREAT 4th of JULY!!! Pictures will be coming next.
Thanks to all who continue to support and lead us. It just means so much.
