My Story

On December 9, 2004, our son Jesse was diagnosed with an inoperable brain stem tumor. Our awesome God has since healed him and Jesse is now and forever in the presence of our loving Savior! We hope that you are blessed by reading about all that God has done in our lives.

Today marks 3 years since Jesse’s journey home. In some ways it seems like such a long time ago and in other ways it seems like yesterday. Jesse remains to be a big part of our thoughts throughout each day. His smile and sweet spirit remain a blessing we hold dear to our hearts. Sometimes I still have a hard time imagining Jesse with his Heavenly Father. How awesome that God's sacrifice allows us to be with Him!

There is a boy, named Andrew, who is struggling with the same tumor that Jesse fought. He reminds me so much of Jesse and has a special place in my heart. His mother was diagnosed with breast cancer four days before he was diagnosed with a DIPG. Needless to say, he and his family are in need of prayer. Their faith in the Lord is just an incredible testimony. Andrew is just priceless. If you would like to keep up with his story you may visit his caringbridge page here: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/aws

We are amazed everyday at how much Justin physically looks like Jesse. There are countless times that something he does causes Chuck or I to ask the other, “who does that remind you of?” We are all doing well and God has certainly continued to bless us since our last update. Caleb and Emma are doing well with homeschooling. Mom is doing well, but teaching does not come naturally for me. It takes discipline and organizational skills that I just don’t have in me. J But, God has enabled me to persevere and hopefully, Caleb and Emma will continue to strive despite my shortcomings!

We would also like to ask for prayer for Chuck’s cousin, Kristi and her daughter. Eva was diagnosed with Stage III neuroblastoma in February of 2008. At the time, she was only 16 months old. She has successfully had tumor removal surgery and four rounds of chemotherapy. Recent tests have shown positive results, but we ask for your prayers. She is such a beautiful, brave little girl!

As always, we thank you for your prayers for our family. We are thankful for family and friends that love the Lord and live for Him.

We love you all and continue to remain

in His grip,

Chuck, Jen, Caleb, Emma and Justin
