It's so great to hear from you.  We were fortunate to spend a little time with Taeler and the girls at our house on December 22.  They never miss a beat. So, Taeler shared with us your Christmas plans.  We, too, had all the family around and it was, as you know, the best gift.  Congratulations on your hard work and progress.  We care so very deeply for you and your whole family.  You are never far from our thoughts.

2013 was the 2nd of many rebuilding years and beat the hell out of 2012, hopefully each year can improve this much. Getting my hip surgeries, done my way, was a huge victory and has allowed me to continue moving forward in all aspects of my recovery. I'm as healthy now as I've been since I broke my neck, which is great, but still leaves a ton of room for improvement. I've been working diligently at my rehab since a few days after my accident and I finally feel like I have a little bit of momentum heading the right way as opposed to continually fighting to keep my head above water. I don't want to jinx it, I know the other shoe is about to drop and I'll be back fighting another hurdle any second now but god damn it feels good not to feel like a pile of shit. I wouldn't say I feel great by any stretch of the imagination but not feeling awful is fucking amazing. For the past couple of months I've been doing weekly IV nutrient therapy at KU med and that has a lot to do with my success of late. Since receiving these treatments of a modified "Myers cocktail" I've seen improvements in my appetite, sleep, strength, and overall well being. The infusions are $125/visit not counting getting to and from KCMO, for how I feel it's more than worth it but there has to be a easier way to get $10 worth of vitamins and minerals into my system every week. I'm going to the infusion center at LMH soon which will cut out the drive but I want to find out how to order the cocktail myself and have a nurse administer it in my home. For Christmas my family got to be together for the first time since 2010 and that's the best gift any of us could have got. We had a super gay sleepover in my parents basement with matching Christmas pajamas curtesy of Taeler and it was the best Christmas I can remember. Ive been blessed with the greatest family and for whatever reason they love the shit out of me, feelings are mutual. I've been working on spending more time self propelling and love it, I hope to get those ewheels eventually so I can tackle uneven ground but for now I'll stick to supermarkets and walmarts. The Bioness hand units are paying off, we're getting some active movement in hand therapy!!! It's not functional and tough to duplicate outside of the therapy setting but it is both hands and it is very exciting! I've been staying at it on the FES bike and just posted my best session ever. The fes bike tracks all my workouts and graphs my progress on reports that are sent to me after each session, it's really interesting to have hundreds of these reports to go over and to actually "see" my progress. I feel very lucky to be able to try and get better everyday and want to thank everyone for their support, I love you all. Hope everyone had a great year and holiday season

HI, Jerod.  Happy belated birthday.  I was just talking to Sheri yesterday, and your dad is going to help Scott with some gutter issues at our house.  Erin came home last night; as you know, always great to have the kids back home.  So have a great day tomorrow at morning basketball and Kale's football.  Might be more fun that KU's football.  Keep getting better.

Hey Jerod
was so good to hear from you and read that your doing pretty darn well. You certainly don't have to think about paying back or owing anyone for the things they do for you. It's all out of love. Though you working your arse off is cool for us to witness. You are amazing! Go Cards!!
