Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well. Weathering this economic storm that is upon us. May the Lord bless us ALL during these times.
I wanted to report that I had an appointment with my internalist yesterday and that it went fabulously. Every part of the bloodwork tests that were run were in the "good" column. I haven't had that - ever. It was a GREAT feeling!!!!! My cholesterol is back to normal, which is what I was mostly concerned about and what had been out of my comfort zone for a while. The only thing I still need to do is lose this last 15 pounds. With all of the stress with Ernie's track team and stuff going on right now I have decided just to not worry about it. Usually when I do that I find that I lose weight better anyway. So, I don't have to see my doctor again for at least a year or longer if I am still doing well.
I was SO BLESSED after my appointment when I finally got to meet the doctor who was the ER doc who resucitated me. I had attempted to meet him several times since I was in the hospital, but we never could connect. So, I contacted my friend Mel and asked if she would help me hook up with him yesterday. And, it all worked out! It was so great and surreal to meet him and talk to him. I was able to visit with him and his wife for a while and I had Lucy with me so she got to ham it up. Thank you to Dr. Peeples for being willing to go out of your way to meet me and let me meet you. You have no idea how much that means to me and will always!
After that special meeting Lucy and I went to the St. Charles Birthing Center and saw a few of our favorite nurses who shared in our event. They should be thankful that I don't live closer or I would visit every day until they locked me out. That was so special.
We are all doing good. As I eluded above, things are a little bit stressful for us right now. Ernie is starting track on Monday, but the school is not funding any spring sports this year, so we are having to fundraise to operate. It will be an interesting season, but our goal is to make track happen and get the kids to practice and meets and PR, of course! (That means set personal records and is one of the things Ernie stresses with the kids.) We are so thankful to God that He brought us here and has led us to serve these kids. They are why we are here and Ernie is determined to make it work. I will be right there with him along with a host of very dedicated track parents. We are thankful for all of you guys!
Our nephew Keegan turned 1 a week ago, today! We went to Hermiston for his birthday party and had a great time. We also got to witness my sister, Sarah, and her husband, Richie, get baptized. Ernie got to go up to Clarkston on Saturday for his great uncle's funeral and visit with his family. It was a great weekend!
Well, I think that is all for now. I will probably update toward the end of track season and let you know how everything went. God Bless YOU!!!!!!
