Jeff is a 37 year old Creative Director for Lending Tree in Irvine, CA. Jeff has always been an active person enjoying surfing, fishing, basketball and working out at the gym. In April of 2006, his ability to do all these things changed dramatically. Our whole family was thrown into a chaotic world that is now controlled by cancer...PMP.

It's unfortunate that Caringbridge is not able to screen posts by classless people that would use somebody's memorial site to post hate mail. I shared the post so people could get first hand idea of what my family and I have had to deal with over the last several years and because I found it completely comical. Regina Wellman lives on the east coast and has not spoken or seen Jeff or myself for nearly 8 years. All the false information she posted came directly from the in-laws which is how it's been for years. I've been told that even after her rant on this site, she will not even be attending the service for her dear friend.

I need to share about Jeff's service (which Regina also did not attend). It was absolutely perfect...a service Jeff would have wanted to attend. Jeff never liked getting dressed up for ANYTHING so we asked everyone to come in "aloha" or beach attire which they did. My girlfriend, Terilynn, made a picture DVD which was phenomenol although difficult to watch as Jeff was such a strong, happy and vibrant person and cancer took him way too soon. I had fresh flower leis made for the kids and I and the pastor gave a beautiful message. Tim, my parents and my brother (via a written message) all gave heartfelt eulogies that captured Jeff to a tee. I was shocked by the hundreds of people there and all the support and love was overwhelming. Back at the house we had Mai Tais as that was Jeff's drink of choice in Maui. As soon as the plane would touch down and we'd get to the condo, Jeff would take us to Hula Grill barefoot bar and get his Mai Tai. It truely was a celebration of an exceptional life. For all those that came, thank you and for those who couldn't make it, your presence and spirit was felt.

Now that we've all been able to recover and breathe again, I need to once again thank my family who was by our side for 2 straight years to help in any way we needed them. My sister and brother-in-law quit jobs and packed up and moved home from Tennessee to help us as did my brother from San Diego. There was no way I could take care of 2 kids, tend to Jeff's many needs and keep my job without them. Jeff's brothers were always available when needed and I continue to talk to daily. All the families that brought us meals will never know how much they gave to us and how we are forever grateful. The kids and I are holding our own and I did return to work part-time last week. We talk about Jeff all the time and it's really hard not to cry so we just do. Alyssa is doing fantastic but Connor is having some issues with not wanting to be away from me and overnight. I'm going to get the 3 of us into some counseling. But we have so much love and support from family and friends that we will get through this and work every day to rebuild our lives. Thank you all for all you've done. It was very unfortunate that such a hateful person had to make a bad situation even worse but those that were here 24/7 to be called on at any time of day know what really went on and they all will be rewarded 10 fold. Noone can break the spirits of those who gave everything to Jeff and our family. Thank you all again.

Angela
