Spent the day with Jonathan. What a difference! He was so calm and his normal self except that he was wanting to catch up on all the sleep he has missed the last 4 days. He even had some sweet smiles today.

All cultures and test came back negative. They believe it was caused either by a virus or more likely by his bowels not moving everything through sufficiently. The Dr. who came in today told us to make sure we give both laxatives every day and if he really gets diarrhea to hold the Miralax and give him the other one. That is the opposite of what I was told at discharge last week. This is the second time he has been in the hospital for this condition this past year so I am thinking it is something we will suspect it first next time something similar happens.

They started his feeding tonight but on a very low rate. The doctor said he expects to keep him for 2 more days so they can slowly increase the rate of feed to make sure he tolerates it.

A good by-product from all this is that the hospital and group of doctors we will use, now that we are home, has been introduced to him! If this happens again maybe they won't have to do so many tests but will get right to the source from this history.
