My Story

Jayden was born with his own unique genetic disorder called a multiple balanced chromosomal translocation involving chromosomes 2, 3, 8, 10, and 15. Due to the severity of his condition from so many health issues and all of the respiratory problems associated with it Jayden lost his battle on June 17, 2008 at the age of 3 1/2. He fought up until the moment he drew his last breath.

Hello again dear friends, Thank you all for your support with the incident that happened with my neighbor. See the thing is, he's a very nice man who has cut our grass for us in the past when we were in the hospital with Jayden for such long stays. I know that he did not mean to come off as being rude the other day, but sometimes he goes about things the wrong way. He is a preacher at a small church down the road from us, but he is not perfect by any means and sometimes he comes across a little harsh. He said that I needed some tough love, but I disagree. I think that it might very well take a lifetime for me to adjust to the fact that my baby is no longer here, but I also know that I can't stay this sad forever. I am fully aware that I have severe anxiety and depression and I am seeing a therapist for these issues. I've heard it said before that you can't rush grief and I don't intend to. I want to grieve for my baby and I don't want to sugarcoat the pain in any way. I feel like that would just be putting a bandaid on a gash. But all that aside, I have a question for you all. Jared came to me yesterday saying that his head was hurting so I felt all around on his scalp and found 2 small knots and he yelled that it hurt when I touched them. I couldn't really see anything so I got out the clippers and gave him a buzz cut to see them more clearly, but he still won't let me touch them. They are on the bottom of the back of his head near his left ear. We lost our internet connection and I can't do very much online research from my phone but I can still update this site and read your guestbook entries so if any of you have any ideas of what it might be could you post them in the guestbook please? Since Jayden was diagnosed with all of his problems I tend to freak out over the least little thing that happens to Jared so I'm really nervous worried that it could be something serious. I hope it's nothing, but still could you please let me know if you have any ideas? Thanks so much, Vicki
