This is Ryan-
Jane did see the beauty of Denail and many other places on March 15th at 6:42 PM as God took her hand in His and gently carried her to be with him in heaven.
From the time that I called our children ( David, Sarah, Mark ) until Jane's death, we had a "gift" of two and a half weeks. Jane rallied after the children arrived at her bedside in our den. In the afternoons and evenings friends came by to visit. This was a chance for so many folks who loved Jane to tell her "good-by."
We so greatly appreciate the food that our friends brought over to the house. There were many beautiful cards with words of encouragement for Jane. All of this, your prayers, love, caring and so much more - We are so greatful to each of you.
On several evenings there was spontaneous worship with singing of Jane's favorite hymns. Our children sang special songs for Jane. We all held hands to form a circle of faith as our pastor Bill Slater prayed for Jane and for each of us.
During her ordeal, Jane never wavered in her faith in God. Each evening during the "gift" time made each of ( family and friends ) much stronger in our own faith and helped prepare us for what was to come on the 15th.
We all are feeling the emptiness of the loss of Jane. She and I had been married for 38 years. It's hard to look around our house and not see Jane's hand in almost everything. Almost every photograph that I have taken has a warm story in it and it's ususally about Jane. When I go somewhere, I stop and think " I need to give Jane a call and let her know that I am here OK." I walk down the stairs and expect to see her in our den.
Only wonderful memories remain.
Each day, each event is a milestone that I now must cross by myself. I am so greatful for my children, family, friends and co-workers for their support during this difficult time.
I ask for your continued prayers for wisdom and courage as I re-invent myself and move forward with life.
I will write more in Jane's CaringBridge Journal soon. There is much that I would like to share with each of you about my beautiful wife, Jane. About her life, her strong faith in God, her battle with cancer and the love that we shared.
