Great news everyone!
Matt and I went to MD Anderson this week for a checkup and more scans… no sign of cancer anywhere! We are so thrilled.
We are almost 90 days from transplant now and I am feeling great. My energy is pretty good, I haven’t had any illnesses, and my bone marrow marrow appears to be doing well. My white cell count is still a little low, but that can be normal at this stage. It is another few months until we would have to worry about that, so grow white cells grow! I’ve even been cleared to begin working a little bit again, as long as it’s not around sick people. Ha! My list of talents is short and if I can’t work around sick people then I don’t have much else to offer:-).
Matt and I are doing great. He is back hard at work and I am spending time in this fantastic house, in love with my new décor and still in shock from all the generosity shown toward us with the Healing Jana project. My focus has been healing; good foods (Mmmm... and just enjoying the taste of food), light exercise and yoga, and hanging out with my animals. We’ve had the opportunity to spend the time with friends and family on the weekends, which has been and will continue to be a powerful source of strength and healing.
In other news, my eyelashes and eyebrows are back and I have a super soft hair about 1cm thick on my head. The sides seem to be lacking a bit, but I imagine they will catch up. It is just in time for me to be GI Jane for Halloween, unless anyone else has a better idea! The new hair growth feels great. Besides just being warmer and a sign that one day I will have hair again, it is a sign that treatment is OVER- and I love that. I’m also feeling stronger and starting to regain the weight that I lost during treatment. You can hold the applause for this one though please- it is merely an input-output thing, not a cancer thing!
Before I go I want to tell you about a good friend of mine who is doing a fundraiser for a great cause. Her name is Senja, and we met when I got involved in Lubbock’s Team in Training Program. It is there that she helped Lubbock participants raise thousands of dollars for Leukemia and Lymphoma research, and now she is involved with a similar project that raises money for cancer research called Team Duke, part of the John Wayne Cancer Research Foundation. I am one of the people she is raising money on behalf of. Please go to the link below if you would like to contribute to her cause!

Matt and I want to again thank everyone who shared in our journey. We can’t tell you enough how much we appreciate all the love, positive energy, prayers, and well-wishes.
Lots of love and best wishes to you all!!!!
