James Deere's Journal
Written Dec 12, 2013 9:27pmNovember has been a good month for James. He loves birthdays enjoying his mom's, Hope's, & his cousins, he is definitely birthday'd out but happy. The finale to the birthdays was Thanksgiving, turkey day was most enjoyable with James, Hope, their mom & dad along with cousins, uncle Joe, friends & Mimi & Pop at their house. The most enjoyable holiday of the year where we all to share a feast & each others company, it doesn't get any better & James loved it.
His new aid started the beginning of December, which thus far seems to be going well, James likes Jess & it is his vote that counts. After making a trip to Boston his port used for blood draws was found to be operational however it has been decided that it will be removed sometime in the not distant future in order to avoid a potential problem. He continues to do well & as excited as any 7 year old awaiting Christmas. He is going on a horse & buggy ride this weekend to see the Christmas lights in the park in Albany followed by a trip on the Polar Express next week so as you can see he is quite busy. We are indeed blessed to have James, he brings much love into many lives. It is hard to believe this journey began 43 months ago. Much progress has been made but we still have a long way to go, so please remember James in your prayers.
Written Nov 10, 2013 10:10amJames has had a good month of October. School has continued to go well & James is a happy "Little Man". He experienced a problem with his access port for blood draws & as a result will probably have the port removed. The change of Seasons means James isn't able to spend as much time outdoors as he would like but he manages to stay busy indoors. Of course Halloween was again a big day as it would be for any 7 year old, however the weather could have been more cooperative. Despite the weather James donned his Iron Man costume & went Trick or Treating in the neighborhood with his sister Hope. They both had a great time & of course enjoyed eating their Halloween candy. With Halloween behind us the Holiday season kick off has begun. November is a busy month with several family birthdays with James mom & sister among them & of course culminating with Thanksgiving, an exciting time of anticipation for all including James. One of our traditions will be to take all the kids, James, Hope, & his cousins to the movies Friday after Thanksgiving for great time especially with popcorn & soda.
James continues to do well, still trying to speak, very engaging, & most lovable. We hopefully will have a new aid starting this week which I believe will be a good fit for James, stay tuned. James continued progress is due to the prayerful support of all his family & friends so please continue to remember him in your prayers.

Sadly Summer has come to an end but school has started. James had a wonderful Summer but Fall has arrived which means it is time for school. James went back to school right after Labor Day & was most happy to see all his old friends once again. He has already shown progress since he now takes the school bus both to & from school by himself. He continues to be the happy "Little Man" that we have all come to love so very much.
In addition to James returning to school his little sister Hope has begun nursery school. She likes going but gets very excited when playing with her new friends & needs to learn how to relax more, maybe James can teach her.
The big news is that James had a birthday on September 26th, turning 7 years old. He had a big party at the Firehouse with all his family & friends attending, everyone including James had a great time. James was most excited & happy having all the people that he loves & love him surrounding him, it was a great time with lots of presents.
Unfortunately things change & part of that change is nursing & caregiver help. Many of James nurses are leaving or changing their schedule, as a result we are in the hunt for new help.
