Jake Hamoen's Journal
Written Feb 9, 2014 1:07pm by Toni HamoenJake is doing ok. Still having a few issues but it's being handled.
Lots of excitement this week as we have a new granddaughter!! Elianna was born on Thursday weighing in at 7lbs13oz.
There are some problems and she was transferred to McMaster Children's hospital NICU and may be there for a few weeks. Your prayers would be appreciated as Katie and Mike deal with what needs to be done. She is beautiful and strong and we will have more assessments this week and have more facts. We all know worry and need calm and peace as each day unfolds. Needless to say we are thrilled.
By the way....whoever is praying for snow.....please stop!!!!!
Will update soon
Written Jan 29, 2014 12:36pm by Toni HamoenAs much as Jake is remaining so positive, he has had some issues in the last week with fever, low bp and another UTI. Each one of these can be a huge problem on its own let alone combined.
Nursing staff have kept on top of it and he is on antibiotics again.
He has spent a great deal of time sorting photos that I have copied on his computer and thanks to Skype he is the last voice I hear at night.
However, I think maybe that reviewing all these photos is a double edged sword for him. He enjoys them but I know cannot help but feel sad for the life he had.
I am just thankful for the life he has however different it is.
I will try not to let him hog all of the updates!!
Jake's Journal entry
Written Jan 28, 2014 10:57pm by Toni HamoenHi folks! I'm doing well, other than some UTI issues which God will see me through. I was looking through YouTube and found a dedication to mother and the story of our lives: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAzYZ-E4l30 . And if you liked the song "try to find me", you'll like this song by a blind and autistic 10-year-old boy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPTMA7HIIyk . Love to all of you, Jake
