Okay, here is the low down. Jake is going in for a MRI this afternoon. He has been in so much pain, that we want to make sure it isn't related to the tumors. Yesterday, we did a CT scan of his body and it confirmed that he has severe mucositis and esophagitis. We have upped his morphine, but it hasn't seem to phase him. We just switch to Fentanyl, so hopefully that will help. We have become really friendly with the pain management team here at PCH. It breaks my heart to see him in so much pain and he can't tell me why. It is now 1:30pm and he has just fell asleep on Aunt Shannon. He has been up since 4:00 this morning. I guess the Fentanyl is working. THANK GOODNESS!!! Please keep Jakie in your prayers. We will let you know what the MRI tells us. I am sure we wont know anything until tomorrow.
I just want to let our AT/RT friend, Brook Johnson, know that we are thinking of her and her family. They just got word that there is a cancerous spot on her spine that showed up on her latest MRI. These kids have put up such a fight, they deserve some peace and happiness.
