Journal

It's been a while since I've been able to post anything on this site, but today we had our computer feed upgraded to fiber optic, so I hope this works!

Life for Jacob has had its up and downs, but he seems to have responded quite well to his latest operation, which was intended to destroy colonization sites for the resistant bacteria which has plagued him so. He was able to sleep at a friends house the other nite with no problems. It has given him a bit more freedom, and the ability to get away from Mom and Dad once and a while, which is crucial for a 17 yr old [you remember, don't you?] Anyway I need to thank all of you who continue to remember Jacob in your prayers. I am certain that the strength and resolve we experience is due to the power of prayer! We would also like to give a greatly belated thankyou to my second Brother, Jim Musser, who has selflessly initiated his own fundraisers, and provided us with some of the extra funds needed during the mods to the house. Our love goes out to Jim and his family and all those involved in this effort. I have felt the Spirit of Christ working thru Jim and others and have never seen the inner workings of the Body of Christ so clearly defined! I would also like to thank all those who helped in the auction for Jacob, My third brother, Dave Ediger, who did such an amazing job on the video editing!, you've come a long way from the "New Mind!", [inside joke].

I also am so very thankful for my Family. God has shown strengths in my Daughter Rachel, who even with all of this going on, has maintained a 4.0 average in school and continues to help with her Brother unselfishly, some times in the middle of the nite as her room is next to his. But most of all, my Wife Jenny who has endured one of the toughest years ever, losing her Mother, Brother and her job of 10 years, all in less than one year. I have seen a side of her I never knew existed and an inner beauty that comes right out of Solomon's writings of a virtuous woman. She continuously and tirelessly works with Jacob, stays with him in the hospital, and on trips to Sacramento for his surgeries. Sometimes I feel so unworthy of her, as I do not have the same level of patience, only a Mother has. My love for her and my Daughter has deepened because of all this, and I am so proud of them. I would request that you pray for success in finding a job for Jenny that will be flexible enough for Jacob's needs. I am very fortunate to have a boss that has the patience of Job. Ric has been understanding like no business owner I've ever met, and I continue to be thankful for his character.

If this posting makes it thru, I'll keep you all posted to future events.

My love to you all, Mark.
