I am so sorry for the loss of JJ. You're right, he is not "just a dog". He is a member of your family. And the hurt of losing a family member, whether 4-legged or 2-legged, goes deep. Praying for your family during this difficult time. May God bring you peace.

It is so Sad to hear about JJ. Hugs go out to your whole family. I am also sorry to hear you will not be in Clearwater in January when I'm there. I so miss Ben at school, my fob still does not work at door 11 of the Middle School. LOL Talk to you guys later. Miss You Lots.

Tosha - I know you really don't know me, but I'm Ben's Godmother -- a good, childhood friend of his Mom's.  I am a dog lover and losing one is a tremendous loss.  You guys did all you could, he couldn't have asked for a better human Mom & Dad.  (Most people wouldn't have even tried the surgery.)  It must have been meant to be, so he and Jake could be together again.  I'll pray for you and your family as I know it will be hard on all of you. Take Care and know that it will take time again, and others are thinking of you.

WOW!  I'm so glad you wrote all that exactly when it was SO ready to come out of you.  Your spirit clearly is already on this journey to Florida.  You just have to do the physical part to make it real.  I'm already looking forward to the day you put an update here about the family (or families) that you meet and help.  You will just KNOW that THEY were the reason you HAD to move there.  God has given you so much wisdom!  With your willing heart, he will send them to you.  Do you know the song "Go Make A Difference"?  Because you WILL!  God grant you patience as you surf these tides of change!
